Only specific materials can be used even for private aircraft interiors. For example all materials are required to have an 8110-3 which means they need to pass FAA burn requirements. 2-D and 3-D modeling software allows the customer to preview colors textures patterns and materials. The final stage of this software is a photorealistic 3-D rendering showing the customer a true colour visualization of how the new interior environment will look and feel. This rendering along with the colour board of materials is a complete package for jet interior design.
Air Canada`s J-cabin Flight Attendants and the In-Charge Gloria were extremely friendly and attentive to the passengers and conducted themselves in a professional yet welcoming manner. They were always available and performed their jobs with a smile and truly made the passengers feel welcome and are deserving of top marks. The quality quantity and presentation of the food and beverage service was excellent and gets top marks. Cabin comfort was good with generous seats pitch (better than the United 767-300 we flew ORD-EZE) and the Flight Attendants told us the non fully-reclining seats will soon be replaced when Air Canada upgrades its fleet with the new Business Class interiors that are being introduced fleet-wide.
Trust me when I say that the airlines really do sympathize with all those folks back there in coach manning the galley oars and pulling like hopped-up little monkeys. After all I was a "non rev" (airline employee flying on a free or very cheap "space available" basis) and I learned how to pack a bag to make sure it doesn`t`t have to be checked at the last minute while boarding the plane for example. I know how rough and spartan it can be back there.
