At 1130 PM (almost two hours after take-off) the meal trays were collected and a wine (port) gourmet cheese fruit and cracker service commenced followed by desert and tea. I opted for the Cherimoya Mousse in a Chocolate Cup which was delightful. Very decadent and was enjoyed by all the surrounding passengers! There were extras of the Chocolate Cup available and passengers were offered a second helping. We politely declined. Desert and tea service continued until midnight and cabin lights were dimmed at 1210 AM for several hours of sleeping.
The connotations associated with a private jet absolutely broadcast that one has arrived. Singapore Airlines has quietly upped its game to create a "super-first class" for well-to-do travellers. Its line of Airbus A380 double-decker planes now boast fully enclosed private suites designed by Jean-Jacques Coste who is better known for his range of luxury yachts. There are 12 of these private suites per plane each with a leather seat and separate full-size bed complete with Givenchy-designed duvets and cushions. The two middle suites can be transformed into double accommodation for couples.
